Hi! I’m Carlos Eduardo Duarte, a portuguese software engineer based in Porto, Portugal.
I’m a research assistant at INESC TEC and a PhD student at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, where I also teach. My research is focused on software architecture, microservices, and software patterns.
At INESC TEC, I am involved in national and european projects. My work is mainly focused on software architecture, distributed systems, as well as data and infrastructure interoperability.
I’ve previously worked in the industry for two years, namely at DevScope and Fractal ID, as a software engineer.
I also obtained my Bachelor and Master degrees in Informatics and Computing Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, having briefly stayed at Universidade do Minho during my first school-year.
In my free time I enjoy cooking, watching and studying football (soccer, for my american friends; I’m an FC Porto member and supporter), and reading. I’m a digital minimalist and free-software advocate (a pragmatical one).
